Project Overview

his course was designed to help project managers strengthen their leadership communication skills and foster more effective collaboration within project teams. The goal of the learning experience was to demonstrate how communication behaviors directly influence team dynamics, trust, and project outcomes.

The course introduces practical leadership strategies for guiding teams through different phases of development, managing communication challenges, and establishing clear expectations across stakeholders. Learners explore concepts such as Tuckman’s stages of group development, high-performing team characteristics, communication planning, and strategies for encouraging open dialogue within project environments.

Design Process
The design process began with an analysis of the leadership competencies required of project managers responsible for guiding cross-functional teams. The content was structured into short lessons that progressively build leadership awareness and practical communication skills. Each lesson introduces a concept and then reinforces it through interactive exploration or decision-based practice.

Content was organized into seven concise modules covering team development, communication strategies, leadership expectations, and collaborative meeting facilitation. Visual models, interactive diagrams, and scenario-based decision paths were used to help learners connect leadership theory to real workplace situations.

Instructional Design Strategy
The course uses a blended instructional strategy combining concept exploration, reflective learning, and scenario-based practice.

Key design approaches include:

  • Visual models to explain leadership concepts such as team development stages
  • Interactive card flips and hotspots that allow learners to explore leadership techniques at their own pace
  • Branching scenarios that allow learners to practice communication decisions and see consequences of their choices
  • Reflection activities designed to help learners evaluate their own leadership and communication styles

These interactions help transform leadership theory into actionable skills that learners can immediately apply when managing teams and stakeholder relationships.
